Micro-electronics solutions exec buys Atherton 6BD for $12.8M

Medium d52e37ad6aa1a62f21f1cd779325efdf Bruce M. McWilliams and Astrid McWilliams bought the six-bedroom, six-bath home at 401 Selby Lane in Atherton from Michael Chilcoat and Cheryl L. Chilcoat for $12.8 million on Dec. 9.

The 9,290-square-foot house was built in 2006 in the West Atherton neighborhood.

Mr. McWilliams is the chief strategy officer and chair of the board of Tessera Technologies Inc., which offers innovative miniaturization technologies and micro-electronics solutions.

He previously was senior vice president at Flextronics International and co-founded nCHIP. He also held a key position at S-Vision, a silicon chip-based display company.

He received his bachelor's degree, master's degree and Ph.D. in physics from Carnegie Mellon University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 79 home sales in Atherton during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $3.35 million.
