Dr. Gao and Huang paid $625,000 for the 1,511-square-foot property in May 2002. It was built in 1954.

Dr. Gao is an associate investigator at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease. He is also a professor of neurology at the University of California-San Francisco.

He has been a professor of neurology and neurobiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 207 home sales in Outer Sunset during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $715,000.
