Jacklin serves as chairman as well as chairman of the board of directors at Mellon Capital, where he previously served as president and chief executive officer and chief investment strategist. Prior to joining Mellon Capital in 1994, he was on the faculty of Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. He also served as senior staff economist for financial markets and banking for the President's Council of Economic Advisors in Washington, D.C. Prior to Stanford, he also served on the finance faculty at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.

He earned his Ph.D. in finance from Stanford University.
