Geologist buys 3BD in San Rafael for $1.28M

Allan V. Martini and Eleanor F. Martini bought a three-bedroom, two-bath condo at 100 Thorndale Drive in San Rafael from Elsie R. Carr and Michael D. Marcley for $1.28 million on Nov. 18.

The 1,400-square-foot Unit 306 is part of the Villa Marin condo development, which was built in 1985. It is located in Terra_Linda subdivision.

Allan Martini started his as an exploration geologist with the California Company, a firm that served as a stepping stone to the formation of Chevron. He served as the vice president of exploration at another Chevron precursor, Western Operations Inc. After that, he became the president of Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc. In 1984, he became the vice president of Chevron USA. After his presidency he was elected as a director of the Chevron Corporation. He retired from the company in 1988.

He attended the University of Minnesota, where he received his degree in geological engineering.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 203 condo sales in San Rafael during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $240,000.
