Sean J. Safreed and Kelly A. Ryer bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 221 Clipper St. in Noe Valley from Belinda Louise Head for $1.552 million on Oct. 13.

The 1,783-square-foot house was built in 1900 in Noe Valley.

Safreed is a veteran of the computer graphics industry and the co-founder of Red Giant Software, LLC, developer of production-proven visual effects tools for digital video and film professionals.

Previously, he managed products as diverse as Pinnacle Systems, Puffin Designs' commotion rotoscoping software, Silicon Graphics Inc.'s digital video system, and Apple's QuickTime. He has also served as associate editor at Ziff Davis Publishing's MacUser's web page.

He attended the University of California-Santa Barbara.

Ryer is contract and freelance editor and writer at Kelly Ryer Editorial. Previously, she served as adobe press editor and alliance manager at Peachpit Press, as editor of print center at Adobe Systems Incorporated, as senior editor of graphic arts at MacWeeK, and as product manager at Koyosha, Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan.

She attended Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Dr. Head is a dentist and the owner at Dental Implant Partners in San Francisco. She is also associate professor of prosthodontics and the past director of dental implants at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. She also holds a specialist consultant position at the VA Medical Center in Palo Alto. Before she relocated to San Francisco, she spent seven years of private practice in London.

She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She completed her specialty training in prosthodontics at University of California-San Francisco, followed by additional training in maxillofacial prosthetics and dental implants at UCLA Medical Center.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 129 home sales in Noe Valley during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $1,071,750.
